I am always so amazed with how good you are with color pencils... you use prisma right?
I just never seem able to get that look... I just can't grasp the art of coloring in hard and getting the blendy look... then again I never have much time to practice... I am beginning to hate college again. xD
But yeah, two thumbs up. Great piece of art.

You just need patience. xD; It didn't take me as long to finish coloring this 'cause I was sort of rushed. But normally I'd take about a week to finish a picture with a background. Blending takes a long time. You just have to keep going back and forth between shades to get it smooth.
I think, really, the reason this didn't take as long is because I used a colorless blender for the more part. ;; The sheet was done almost all with indigo, which I just darkened in the shaded areas, and then went over the lighter areas with a blender to give it that smoother look.
If you don't have a colorless blender, get one. xD I rarely use mine, but that's because I'm used to blending without one. But if you're not used to blending with color pencils (or don't have time), a colorless blender makes all the difference.
I sadly do have a colorless blender that lays forgotten at the bottom of my color pencil bag. I use it on occasion but me and blenders just never seem to get along. Well I take that back, its more along the lines that I forget about it or can't find it...
Plus I am all for instant gratification and have no patients... something I need to work on. I tend to try to finish a pic in one sitting which makes me do a rather rushing job. I guess I need to set myself down and take my time and do a little bit each day.
Thanks so much though, for the pointers. Much luv.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.

Logic is for people with turnips.
You don't have any turnips, so you don't understand. Strawberry.
Also, for some reason, the girl reminds me of Nodame from Nodame Cantabile... just an odd little thought that came up. :>
